Basic
Configuration - Browser Configuration
When using these directions you
may notice that some settings are not listed. Please be sure
to follow these directions and only make changes to the options
listed. All other defaults are ok as is and/or not important
to using the browser with DialupOne.
Internet Explorer 3.0
- Load your browser.
- Select Options on the View menu.
- Click the Navigation Tab.
- Select Start Page on the drop-down menu Page.
- Fill in theAddress box with http://www.DialupOne.net
- Click OK.
- SelectRead Mail on the Go menu.
- Select Options on the Mail menu.
- Check Send Messages Immediately.
- Click on the Server tab.
- Check the Email Address to insure that it is
your username@DialupOne.net
- If you are using Windows 95 also:
- Click on the Advanced Settings button.
- Check the Reply To: Address to insure that it is your
username@DialupOne.net
Internet Explorer 4.0/Windows
98
- Load your browser.
- Select Internet Options on the View menu.
- Fill in the Address box with http://www.DialupOne.net/StartPage.html
- Click OK.
- Select Mail on the Go menu.
- Select Options on the Tools menu.
- Click on the Send tab.
- Check Send Messages Immediately.
- Click OK.
- Select Accounts on the Tools menu.
- Click theAdd Button.
- Select Mail from the drop-down menu.
- Enter your name in the Display Name field.
- Click the Next button.
- Enter your Email Address.(Make sure you use username@DialupOne.net)
- Click the Next button.
- Select POP3 from the drop down menu.
- Fill in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field with mail.DialupOne.net.
- Fill in the Incoming mail (POP3) server fields with
mail.DialupOne.net.
- Click the Next button.
- Don't check Log on using.
- Enter your username into the POP account name
field.
- Enter your password into the Password field.
- Click the Next button.
- Enter DialupOne Mail into the Internet mail account
name field.
- Click the Next button.
- Select Connect using my phone line.
- Click the Next button.
- Select your modem from the drop down menu.
- Click the Next button.
- Select Using an existing dial-up connection.
(Select DialupOne).
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Finish button.
Netscape Navigator (Netscape
2.0 or 3.0)
- Load Netscape.
- Select General Preferences from the Options
menu.
- Click on the Appearance tab.
- Check Home Page Location:
- Fill in the box with http://www.DialupOne.net/StartPage.html
- Click OK.
- Select Network Preferences from the Options
menu.
- Change the Memory Cache: field to 300.
- Click OK.
- Select Mail and News Preferences from the Options
menu.
- Click on the Server tab.
- Fill in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field with mail.DialupOne.net.
- Fill in the Incoming mail(POP3) server fields with mail.DialupOne.net.
- Fill in the POP3 Server Name field with your
username.
- Fill in the News (NNTP) server field withnews.DialupOne.net
- Click on the Identity tab.
- Fill in the Your Name field.
- Fill in the Your Email field.
- Click on the Organization tab.
- Check Remember mail password.
- Click OK.
Netscape Communicator(Netscape
4.0 and above)
- Load Netscape.
- Select Preferences from theEdit menu.
- Click on the + next to Navigator.
- Click on Navigator.
- Fill in the Location: field with http://www.DialupOne.net
- Click on the + next to Advanced.
- Click on Cache
- Change the Memory Cache: field to 300.
- Click on the + next to Mail & Groups.
- Click on Identity.
- Fill in the Your Name field.
- Fill in the Email address field.
- Click on Mail Server.
- Fill in the Mail server user name field with
your username.
- Fill in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field with mail.DialupOne.net.
- Fill in the Incoming mail(POP3) server fields with mail.DialupOne.net.
- Mail Server type should be set to POP3.
- Click the More Options button.
- Check Remember mail password.
- Click OK.
- ClickOK.
